Educating about the Outdoors since 2019

A man with a beard and short dark hair standing in a clothing store, holding a piece of wood and a hammer, with two children sitting on chairs in front of him, one with red hair and the other with light brown hair. The store has racks of colorful shirts and shelves with stuffed animals and home decor.

My name is Josiah Parrish, and I’m a lifelong outdoorsman, a wilderness skills guide, forager, conservationist, and proud Adventure Dad. As the founder of ForestDigital Outdoors, I’m on a mission to share my love for the outdoors and hands-on adventure with my local community.

ForestDigital Outdoors is an Oklahoma based Outdoor Education organization founded in 2019 with the mission to connect people with nature and each other, inspire adventure and creative thinking through the outdoors, and preserve traditional skills and wild spaces through hands-on learning and stewardship.

At ForestDigital Outdoors we believe learning outdoor skills, like any craft, comes in three parts: consumption, application, and teaching. As adventurers, we’re always learning—whether it’s reading a new book on foraging, playing with sticks in the woods, or sharing our findings and experiences with others.

A curious spirit is an adventurous one, and that’s why we feel such a strong pull to teach. Our goal is to make outdoor learning open and accessible to anyone who’s ready to step outside and give it a try.

For those ready to push their limits, we offer advanced training courses several times a year. These programs dive deeper than our free classes, covering topics like Natural Disaster Preparedness, Wilderness and Urban Survival, and even Campfire Cooking. Expect hands-on, intensive training that challenges you to think, adapt, and get your hands dirty. Each course includes certification, so you leave with both new skills and something tangible to show for it.

What Our Clients Say

  • Natural Tinder and Firestarting class at Woodsman Trading Co. We were extremely happy of the turnout and happy to inspire these children

  • John, a sixth-grader at Whittier Elementary, learned on Tuesday that if you combine those items they make a water filtration system, and it could help him survive in the wilderness. “I’ve never really done this before,” John said. “If you didn’t have what you needed, you’d be out of luck I guess. But we’re learning basic survival skills, and I guess they would help if you got stuck somewhere.”

  • This past Saturday we had an amazing group come out to Bluff Creek Park to our first guided hike! We wanted to choose a super easy place to go over basics and gauge interest in a trip to somewhere a little more rugged, and we got so much enthusiasm...
